Where is Mount Kilimanjaro?
South of the equator and on the border between Tanzania and
Kenya stands the highest mountain in the world Mount Kilimanjaro,
also known as the roof of Africa. There are three summits atop this
mountain and there names are: Shira, Kibo and Mawenzi. Shira
and Mawenzi have lost their peaks due to erosion but Kibo, which is
the youngest, has not suffered erosion and remains a perfect cone.Mount Kilimanjaro stands at 19,340 feet and has justifiably earned its
nickname, the roof of Africa.
There more than a thousand people that reached the summit of
Mount Kilimanjaro on January 1, 2000 to see the sunrise on the mew
millennium from the roof of Africa.
